WHAT INSPIRED THE DESIGN?
I always knew I wanted the ring to have a twist in the band but I wanted it to be different than what you normally see, so that’s where the inspiration for the larger twists came from. The best part of the design however is the two stones that sit underneath the center stone. One is an emerald which is Julia’s birthstone and the emerald was actually taken from her grandmother’s 30th-anniversary ring and the other side has an opal which is my birthstone.
WHERE DID YOUR STORY BEGIN?
We met in the summer of 2014 at a mutual friend’s graduation party and I was immediately taken by her. She didn’t feel the same way at first but after a few years of being friends we finally started dating and the rest, as they say, is history!
TELL US YOUR PROPOSAL STORY!
During the pandemic, a bet was made between us as to who could plan a better date. I decided that I would plan my date on September 19 as a cover for the engagement plans. We went to brunch that morning and then I took her to get pampered a bit. After that, we went to the pumpkin patch where we had our first date. When we were there we ran into a photographer who asked us if we wanted any pictures. While he was posing her I got on a knee behind her and she turned around and was super surprised! After we took some more pictures, we went back to our apartment where we had friends and family waiting for us for a celebration!
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FINISHED PIECE?
I think it tells a nice story and Forever Artisans did an amazing job pulling it together. The ring turned out absolutely stunning!
