At Forever Artisans, we feature real life stories to inspire your custom design. This is the true story of how Nicholas and Sara designed their dream engagement ring.
Oakland University, Michigan. We met at a Greek Life event 13 hours before I hopped on a plane to go work "Down Under" (Australia) for 2 years. For 2 years straight we did not communicate at all. 3 months after I returned, we reconnected at a business related event I was hosting. At the event, we ended up chatting a lot about Sara's business connections. That being said, we agreed to have a "business" lunch to talk all about "business." Well, yup, you got that right, we didn't even get the chance to talk business. We rescheduled for a 2nd "not-so-business" lunch and the rest is history!
WHERE DID YOUR STORY BEGIN?
Our favorite place is a historic mansion on our former college campus, so I made a fake alumni event and proposed to her on our fake "tour and wine tasting." She didn't see it coming!

WHAT INSPIRED THE DESIGN?
There are three elements to the ring that we wanted ever present:
- Sara has two older sisters - one has a circle engagement stone, the other has a square. Sara's stone is a perfect mix of the two, Cushion cut.
- The halo is a symbol of our generation - this style is "trending" right now and we are excited to one day share that story with our Grandkids!
- The three stone is a representation of "past, present & future."
We were researching rings that were very similar to what we wanted which lead us to Diamond Nexus. From there, for customizations, we were brought to Forever Artisans!
